Sharing knowledge. Making an impact

Our shared vision is to improve health for all – through a healthcare system that is inclusive of all genders.

The Community of Practice (CoP) brings together researchers, healthcare professionals, representatives from educational institutions and professional associations, patients and decision-makers who are interested in the impact of sex and gender on health. It collaboratively develops solutions, shares knowledge and effectively integrates new insights into research, practice and policy. A defining feature of the CoP is its strong cross-professional and interdisciplinary focus, which brings together different perspectives from research and practice.

Who is part of the CoP or can join it?

The CoP was initiated by the research teams of NRP 83. At the start of the programme, they formulated the initial questions for the CoP. Researchers (including those outside NRP 83), healthcare professionals, stakeholders from educational institutions and professional associations, patients and decision-makers with an interest in the impact of sex and gender on health are invited to join the CoP to develop solutions together and contribute their own research questions.

Who is supporting the CoP?

To establish the CoP, NRP 83 is collaborating with other organisations active in the field of gender medicine and health. Together, they organise CoP activities, thereby facilitating dialogue among stakeholders. In the initial phase, NRP 83 is taking the lead in organising network meetings (see the ‘Activities’ subpage). The aim of NRP 83 is to establish a long-term structure for the CoP by the end of the programme, so that it can continue to exist beyond the programme’s duration.
